My Web Editor does not sell personal data. This version has no ads, tracking pixels, or analytics SDKs.

1. About this policy

My Web Editor is a native macOS editor designed to work directly with local files, servers you choose, and WordPress sites. This policy explains what information may be processed, where it stays, and the choices available to you.

2. Information the app processes

The app processes only what is needed for an action you start. This can include:

  • Projects and files: file content when you open, edit, preview, or transfer it, plus names, paths, language, preferences, sessions, and local history.
  • Remote connections: profile name, server address, port, protocol, username, initial directory, and host trust information.
  • WordPress: site URL, username, Application Password, content you choose to browse, and REST API responses.
  • Preferences and libraries: theme, font, palettes, snippets, and plugin favorites that you save in the app.
  • Operation messages: results and errors needed to show the progress of a connection, transfer, diagnostic, or update.

Local files

They stay in the folder you choose and in local Mac storage.

▣

Secrets

Passwords, SSH keys, and passphrases are kept separately in Keychain.

↗

Connections

Remote data goes directly to the server or site you configure.

3. Where data stays

Local folders, editor sessions, and transfer data stay on this Mac. My Web Editor does not operate a separate service that receives or stores your project files.

If you enable iCloud Library in Settings, your Apple Account's private CloudKit database may sync server settings, remote project connections, snippets, and WordPress plugin favorite metadata. Local folders, editor sessions, transfers, project files, and secrets are not included in those records.

Server passwords, SSH keys, passphrases, and WordPress Application Passwords use the macOS Keychain. When iCloud Keychain is available and enabled, those items may synchronize through Apple's secure service; the app does not copy secrets into CloudKit records.

4. Passwords and credentials

Credentials are used only to authenticate the connection you requested. A server password may be sent to the server you chose; an Application Password may be sent to the WordPress site you configured. The app does not store these secrets in the project record or send them to the My Web Editor team.

For public sites, use HTTPS before sending credentials. HTTP is accepted for local development environments, such as a site running on your own Mac.

5. Remote servers and transfers

When you connect to a server, download, edit, publish, or remove a file, communication takes place between the app and the destination you configured. That server or provider may receive technical connection information such as your IP address, time, and access logs under its own policy.

The app keeps the information needed to show queues, history, and local backups on your Mac. Sensitive files are excluded from automatic publishing operations when the app identifies them.

6. WordPress and WordPress.org

Content Studio, Site Health, and update tools make requests directly to the WordPress site you provide. Site Health is advisory: it reads REST responses and metadata allowed by the installation; it does not automatically access your database or execute PHP on its own.

When checking plugins, themes, or core versions, the app may use the official public WordPress.org APIs. Catalog requests do not need your site credentials. Packages are downloaded or installed only when you explicitly start that action.

7. Sharing and third-party services

My Web Editor does not sell, rent, or share personal data for advertising. This version has no analytics SDK, ad network, tracking pixel, or required account configured.

The app uses Apple system services such as macOS Keychain, iCloud Keychain, and CloudKit when you enable them, as well as the servers and APIs you choose to access. Those services handle data under the terms and policies of their respective providers.

8. Retention and deletion

Data remains while you keep a project, profile, snippet, palette, or favorite in the app. You can delete projects and profiles from My Web Editor; removing a profile also removes its associated credentials from Keychain. Synchronized items may remain in iCloud until Apple's services propagate the deletion.

Published files and site data remain under the control of the server or WordPress destination. To remove them, use that destination's tools or an explicit transfer action in the app.

9. Your choices

  • Turn off iCloud Library and iCloud Keychain in Apple's settings when you prefer local-only storage.
  • Delete projects, profiles, snippets, palettes, and favorites when you no longer want to keep them.
  • Do not provide a credential when an action does not require authentication.
  • Send questions or privacy requests to hello@getmy.app.br.

10. Children

The app is not directed to children under 13 and does not knowingly request personal information from children.

11. Changes

We may update this policy when a new app feature changes how information is handled. The date at the top will be updated and the current version will remain available on this page.
